The trial of Fredis Beleris continued today, Friday. According to himara.gr, the court rejected the request of Freddy Beleris’ lawyers to disqualify two judges, Erion Cela and Irena Gjoke, claiming that they are biased against the elected mayor of Himara.

Five defense witnesses appeared at the meeting, while the court accepted the request of the lawyers to call the president of the court of Avlona and the prosecutor’s office of the same city to the list of witnesses.

At the same time, according to the lawyers, the authorities have opened Beleris’ mobile phone since the first days, denying the leaks from the previous trial that this has not been possible.

Fredi Beleris attended the meeting and said: “The case is bad. The Avlonas prosecutor’s office has been placed in the service of the Police and the information has been falsified. I asked for information about the people who falsified the data. This information is necessary for normal protection. They put me in jail on a fake criminal record. Manipulation by the prosecution continues, it is not known for what reasons. I feel insulted and discriminated against. They want to punish me.”

The meeting was adjourned until January 10.
