“The dawn of 2024 is the prologue of a new page for the largest Region of the country” emphasizes in his message the new governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias. “Together with the citizens, with the power given to us by the clear and strong mandate of society, we are charting for the next five years the only path worthy of Attica: Forward. With a plan, modesty and without deviating for a minute from our goals. Happy new year, with health, strength, prosperity, love and abundance to all and sundry” he emphasizes in his statement.

In the morning, Mr. Hardalias attended the solemn Doxology for the new year, presided over by the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos, organized by the Region of Attica, in the presence of the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Regional Governor of Attica Nikos Hardalias welcomed the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Speaker of the Parliament Konstantinos Tassoulas at the entrance of the Metropolis, together with the Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Athens Fr. General Konstantinos Floros, while a military commander was giving honors.

The Doxology was attended, at the invitation of the Region, as indicated in the relevant announcement, among others, the Minister of the Interior Niki Kerameos, the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni, the Minister of Education Kyriakos Pierrakakis, the Deputy Minister of National Defense Ioannis Kefalogiannis, the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Alexandra Sdoukou, the Deputy Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy Ioannis Pappas, the SYRIZA Member of Parliament Elena Akrita as a representative of the official opposition, the secretary of the Central Political Committee of PASOK Andreas Spyropoulos as a representative of PASOK-KINAL, the president of the “Spartiates” party Vassilis Stigas, “Niki” MP Nikolaos Vrettos as party representative, New Democracy MPs Ioannis Tragakis, Giorgos Stamatis and Ioanna Lytrivi, the former Speaker of the Parliament Apostolos Kaklamanis, New Democracy MEP Eliza Vosenberg, “Spartia” MP Athanasios Chalkias, the president of the Supreme Court Ioanna Clappa-Christodouleas, the president of the Court of Audit Sotiria Dounis, the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Georgia Adelini, the Deputy Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Maria Gane, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces General Konstantinos Floros, the Chiefs of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Forces and Security Forces and their representatives, senior officers, regional advisors, representatives of institutional bodies and foreign denominations, etc.

Immediately after the end of the Doxology, the regional governor went to the Presidential Palace to express the customary New Year’s wishes to the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
