The reaction of the president of SYRIZA Stefanou Kasselakis caused by the saying used by the prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis “don’t put the cart behind the horse” on the same-sex couples bill.

“The “liberal” Kyriakos Mitsotakis has just likened thousands of his fellow citizens to horses! Equality is the “cart”? And who is the “saddle”? The bill that does not bring to a vote? Or maybe Voridis? Shame on him for the phrasing he uses on such a sensitive social issue. I invite him to say clearly: – Is the Prime Minister of the country in favor of marriage equality (which means de facto and procreation), YES or NO? – Will he demand party discipline from his MPs or will he feed his far-right audience ‘hay’ while the progressive forces pass the bill with the votes of their MPs?” says the president of SYRIZA, posting on his X account in Greek and English.

It is noted that during the swearing in of the new ministers and deputy ministers of the government, Mr. Mitsotakis was asked by journalists “if there is visibility for the bill for same-sex couples”.

“Don’t put the cart before the horse. First we’ll explain what we want to do and then we’ll talk about a schedule.” replied the prime minister.
