It was with great joy and emotion that I attended today the celebration of the Epiphany at the Ecumenical Patriarchate, in the center of Orthodoxy, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs“, noted the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Kotsiras, in his statement after the ceremony of the consecration of the waters at the Ecumenical Patriarchate where he represents the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the celebration of the Epiphany.

The Festival of Lights sends a message of hope and optimism around the world. On this particularly important day for Orthodoxy and Hellenism everywhere, I want to reiterate the respect of the Greek State for the institution of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and our undivided support for its valuable, multifarious work».

As he pointed out, this was emphasized “and during my meeting with the ATHP by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, a religious leader with global influence and a great contribution that is recognized internationally”.

We consider that the strengthening of ties with the ecclesiastical institutions of Orthodoxy constitutes a key cohesive factor between the metropolitan center and the diaspora and is – therefore – part of our strategic goals for diaspora Hellenism».

“We have achieved important national conquests in all sectors and have strengthened the international position of our country. We can thus look to the future with more confidence”, he said characteristically.
