The government’s draft law on postal voting in the European elections will be debated in the Parliament tomorrow, Monday, as Minister of the Interior Niki Kerameos told SKAI.

All Greek voters in the country and abroad have the right to vote by mail. Voters who wish to exercise their right to vote by postal vote must do so up to 40 days before the election. He also clarified that foreign residents will only vote by mail.

N. Kerameos presented in detail the procedure, the file and the ballots and assured that the vote of every citizen by mail will be absolutely guaranteed.

The request for a postal vote will be made on the platform only with the Taxis codes of the voter, who will then receive a confirmation sms on their mobile phone and will be able to track the file’s progress electronically, until it reaches their hands sealed.

The file, according to the minister, must have arrived in Greece on Saturday, June 8, one day before the European elections.

16,500 new hires are coming

The minister also announced that 16,500 new recruits are coming in all sectors and in all ministries.

The decision was taken with priority to Healthwhere 6,500 permanent appointments will be made.

Also, emphasis was placed on the climate crisis and protection of forests – recruitment in respective specialties – and implementation projects of the Recovery Funds that require human resources.
