The president of SYRIZA met today in the Parliament with unions of workers who are active in the fields of promoting and protecting cultural heritage
The need to support the cultural heritage management sector with legislative proposals was emphasized by the president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, during the meeting he had today in the Parliament with associations of workers who are active in the fields of promoting and protecting cultural heritage, as well as promoting scientific knowledge.
“The attitudes of our country are influenced by culture. You are on the edge of social change, so we need to support you”Mr. Kasselakis said at the start of the meeting, while noting that what they are dealing with is a “social function” and not a “profession”.
He then spoke of “injustices” that have been “suffered by the Mitsotakis government”, pointing out that many members of the party have requested the intervention of SYRIZA.
He himself apologized for not being able to do so until now, however, he emphasized that “from now on” it will be the “priority” of the official opposition.
“I would like both modern culture and our heritage to be two equal parts in the conversation about culture and for the policies we must implement from now on”, added the president of SYRIZA, while emphasizing that his goal is to listen to the “problems” of the workers in the sector and their proposals in order to proceed with the submission of relevant legislative proposals.
“You have our undivided support in matters of funding and recognition of degrees in the sector and in everything you need for your career to have an impact not only in Greece but also in Europe”, concluded Mr Kasselakis.
