The prime minister was presented with a study by the National Center for Social Research and the National Research Center for Natural Sciences “Demokritos”, with the support of the Special Secretariat for Long-Term Planning.
A meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the presentation of the study “Generative AI Greece 2030: The possible futures of Productive Artificial Intelligence in Greece”, took place in the morning at the Maximos Hall.
The study was prepared in the fall of 2023 by the National Center for Social Research and the National Center for Natural Sciences Research “Democritus“, with the support of the Special Secretariat for Long-Term Planning.
It is the first empirical research approach of strategic foresight for the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Greece.
The aim of the study is to formulate a framework of strategic initiatives and policy recommendations, as emerged through the findings, regarding the impact of the domestic ecosystem of Productive Artificial Intelligence, with a time horizon of 2030.
The study is another initiative in the context of its promotion Artificial Intelligence a national priorityas the Prime Minister has announced, on the occasion of the establishment of the Advisory Committee for Artificial Intelligence, which will also produce the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence.
The study was presented to the Prime Minister by the Special Secretary for Long-Term Planning, Yannis Mastrogeorgiouthe vice president of the National Bioethics and Technoethics Committee and member of the Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence, Charalambos Chekeris and the Director of Research at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National Natural Sciences Research Center “Democritos” and member of the Advisory Committee for Artificial Intelligence, Evangelos Karkaletsis.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiouthe Minister of State Stavros Papastavrouthe Minister of State Akis Schertsos and the Deputy Minister in addition to the Prime Minister and Government Representative, Pavlos Marinakis.
