Dimitris Houpis took over from outgoing general Konstantinos Floros
On the morning of Tuesday 16/1, the hand-over ceremony for the GEETHA leader took place at the facilities of the Evelpidon School, with General Dimitrios Houpis taking over from the outgoing leader, General Konstantinos Floros, in the presence of the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias.
Constantinos Floros was moved and declared: “I can report with pride and honor that the mission was accomplished. Not an iota of land less, not a grain of sand lost and that’s thanks to all of you. I thank you. Continue to make Greece strong and respected by all and always remember the words of the national poet “enclose Greece in your soul and you will feel every kind of greatness””
The new GEETHA chief, General Dimitrios Houpis, for his part, emphasized: “I assure that I will put every ounce of my strength and devote all my energy in order to ensure the absolute ideal of national security which the Armed Forces guarantee and would be blessed forever”
“The Armed Forces must be adapted operationally and organizationally taking into account the country’s economic potential”, he added.
