The Deputy Minister of Health E. Agapidaki, in her brief presentation, during a workshop that has been held since the morning at the National Gallery of Athens, emphasized that “the patient must understand the level of services offered. If this does not happen, we have failed.”

Addressing hospital administrators, she said “the tools are there to improve the situation”

Speaking about the Recovery Fund, he said that it enables us to solve several problems and added that “the responsibility of the administrations is clear in many cases”.

Problems in Primary Health Care create pressure on hospitals, he admitted, stressing that there is an ongoing process of restructuring primary care and, until the new model is implemented, the role of administrators is important.

From his side the Deputy Minister of Health M. Themistokleous he said that “the vast majority of commanders who are here today was an honor and a great challenge to serve in hospitals during the pandemic”.

The result in Health comes with teamwork and great attention to detail, he pointed out. He also spoke of “concrete and major changes coming to the health system”.

“You will be invited to make changes in your hospitals and think that we are… doomed to succeed,” he pointed out.

The Deputy Minister of Health D. Vartzopoulos he pointed out that it is “a unique phenomenon for the country to have hospital budgets within the first 10 days of the year”. Referring to the procurements, he said that they are now made based on the previous year’s expenditures and added that the creation of the central procurement authority is important, because they can now be implemented through it.
