“The great public uproar and division that has been caused over this issue (including same-sex marriage) is completely wrong. The coming law regulates the rights of some people and children in a spirit of equality and there is no reason to fight from morning to night“, the Minister of Health said to SKAI and to the show “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias Adonis Georgiades.

“Of course we respect everyone’s objections, especially the church’s. The church has an absolute right to speak, and this is its nature and position within Greek society. But if we look at it coolly and de-dramatize it, we will find that it is not an issue worth fighting about so much”, added the Minister of Health, noting: “I fully understand all the objections of the Hierarchs and what they say in the context of Christian ethics, they have every right to they call them. For better or worse states do not legislate only for Orthodox Christians or only for a section. They legislate for the whole society. The point of view of a state is necessarily wider than that of a religion”.

Referring to the new commercial for vaccination against the coronavirus, Mr. Georgiadis, after thanking Deputy Health Minister Irini Agapidakis and pulmonology professor Ms. Anastasia Kotanidou, emphasized: “Vaccination must be accelerated because it saves lives. No one wants to make money off vaccines.”

Regarding vaccination in Pharmacies, Mr. Georgiadis pointed out that: “my political will is to expand the vaccination network from Covid. Vulnerable groups must receive a dose of vaccines once a year.”

For those who have lost EKAS, the Minister of Health emphasized: “Those who have lost EKAS do not lose any rights, they remain protected in all the laws we have.”

For the meeting of K.O. of SYRIZA in Spetses, Mr. Georgiadis said: “Shocking results from Ms. of SYRIZA I do not expect”, pointing out that SYRIZA MPs have different opinions among themselves. “Mr. Kasselakis has a more decent opposition,” he added.
