Investigative journalism was the one that revealed critical aspects of the illegal surveillance scandal, one of the sickest cases of human rights violations, undermining the rule of law and democratic institutions, said Nikos Androulakis, President of PASOK-Movement for Change regarding today’s trial of G. Dimitriadis’ lawsuit against journalists.
“The extermination lawsuit of Grigoris Dimitriadis against the Journal of Editors, Reporters United and Thanasis Koukakis is a direct attempt to silence and intimidate journalists,” he commented.
“At a time when, a year and a half later, the perpetrators of this scandal have not been held accountable and the Government often orchestrated their cover-up,” he added.
