Meeting with him Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, has this time in the Pentagon o president of SYRIZA – PS Stefanos Kasselakis, in order to be informed, among other things, by him about the armament programs contained in the Blinken letter, which include the purchase of F-35 aircraft worth 8.2 billion dollars.

Mr. Kasselakis was accompanied by a delegation of SYRIZA.

Speaking today, Monday on SKAI and on the show “Today” the Head of Development of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance, Christos Giannoulis pointed out that Mr. Kasselakis will ask for three things today by Nikos Dendias.

“First, let’s have a measure in how and how much we discuss these issues” because as he said “everything that concerns the defense armoring of the homeland is something that does not contribute to the party agendas but to our country”.

“Secondly, because it is a high expense, it is not bad to have an order of magnitude how much and to what extent this expense affects” and “thirdly, we ask to know if it is also a co-decision of the general staffs, if they are included in an operational plan” .

At the same time, Mr. Giannoulis recalled that “for the F-16s we witnessed an enthusiastic value and glamor that was given to the speech of Mr. Mitsotakis in the Congress where it was considered neither a little, nor much that the F-16s are the end for Turkey.

He also stated that “there is also an issue at EU and NATO level, whether for the F-16s there will be a treaty if these weapons of a NATO ally are foreseen or pledged or discussed not to be used against another ally”
