Speaking to SKAI 100.3, the prime minister announced the increase to 10,000 euros in the first aid to the farmers of Thessaly for the damage to the equipment caused by the bad weather Daniel.

The money will be paid immediately and will satisfy the relevant request of the farmers, who also complain about lack of liquidity.

“With the additional aid to farmers, we will solve the issue of liquidity,” said the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, speaking on SKAI television.

At the same time – in view of Agrotica on the weekend and the farmers’ blockades that are getting thicker – Mr. Marinakis said: “I don’t believe that we will get to the point of closing the national roads”.

As he pointed out, with yesterday’s announcements by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Theodoros Skylakakis, for the suspension of electricity payments for two years, two of the basic requests of the farmers are satisfied.

The government representative reiterated that the government listens to the serious demands of the farmers but will not let the protests affect the rights and freedoms of all citizens.
