Greek learning and the Greek language are a key axis of the strategic plan for Hellenism Abroad, he emphasized the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Kotsiras in an interview with ERT. He noted that it is the first time that we have a comprehensive, organized road map, with a four-year horizon, for strengthening the relationship with Greeks Expatriate and added: “The government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis has a coordinated policy for Greeks Expatriate.”

In this context, he underlined that the Greek language learning platform for young expatriates staellinika.com now available in German and French, in addition to already English, Spanish and Portuguese. “We are talking about a platform that covers a very wide range of our compatriots abroad and especially young people who can in an easy and understandable way come into contact with the Greek language, even if they don’t know it at all”, pointed out Giorgos Kotsiras. He noted that the platform “addresses very young children, in a way that is easier for him to understand”.

He also announced that on February 9, on the occasion of Greek Language Day, many events are planned in almost all embassies of our country abroad. “They have taken initiatives to “communicate” the very important background that the Greek language has for Hellenism as a whole, both as a means of extroversion and as a means of spreading our culture,” he noted.

Regarding the developments in the Middle East and the inclusion of our country in the F-35 program, Mr. Kotsiras referred to the strategic depth of Greece’s relationship with the US and to the role of our country as a factor of stability in the region, underlining that our country has gained diplomatic capital thanks to its reliable and multidimensional foreign policy. “Our country has managed to be a reliable interlocutor and partner, and a pole of stability in a region and neighborhood that has to face many challenges,” he noted.
