The women’s polo team lost 10-14 to the mighty USA at the OAKA in their final friendly before their participation in the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, which start next Sunday, and looked ready for their presence in the Qatari capital.
The USA led 4-1 in the first eight minutes, but the Nationals cut it to 4-3 and 5-4 in the second. It was Asimaki who tied the game at 6-6 at the end of the second period.
Derby also in the third eight minutes, with Xenaki (7-7) and Ninou (8-8) drawing. The USA regained momentum and went up 6-3 in the third period.
Alexia Kammenou used Xenakis, Myriokephalitakis and Asimakis in the position of the midfielder at times and tried many formations in defense and attack.
