The Agrotica exhibition was visitedat noon on Saturday the President of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis, staying for four hours in its premises.

“The government has no vision for the country’s primary sector. It is simply managing political costs, as soon as the tractors are on the roads,” commented Mr. Androulakis in his statements the day after the government announcements, highlighting the 25% increase in production costs, the reduction of agricultural holdings in the last decade and the lack of an interconnection plan of tourism with the primary sector and manufacturing.

“Mr. Mitsotakis announced yesterday that the electricity tariff will be reduced by 10% for the summer months. Don’t they need energy in the remaining months in the greenhouses? He also said that by April the direct aid will be paid, but it should have been paid by the end of 2023. All this shows that there is no strategic plan. Answers only when the tractors are out on the streets,” he pointed out.

“The government chose micromanagement” noted Mr. Androulakis, underlining the absence of a government plan for the energy communities, an intervention that only yesterday entered the Prime Minister’s priority.

“We have a vision of a primary sector with extroversion. A primary sector that will be the core of the country’s competitiveness. A primary sector that will give dignity and perspective to farmers, breeders, processors, to stay in their place” concluded the President of PASOK-Movement for Change.

Answering a journalist’s question about the reconstruction of the TIF, Mr. Androulakis clarified that PASOK’s position is “to have a pre-discussion for a metropolitan park which will upgrade the quality of life of citizens in Thessaloniki. And of course, with this central idea, let’s talk about soft infrastructure, which will be related to the Thessaloniki Exhibition and other projects that will improve everyday life. It is unthinkable that this large investment, which the Greek people will make to upgrade the city, will become a business plan of domestic or foreign business interests. We have as a priority the metropolitan park, which will make Thessaloniki a sustainable city with a perspective”.
