“Someone who, through the minimum admission basis, as has emerged in the Panhellenics, cannot enter the departments of the Greek public university will essentially not be able to enter the non-state ones either,” said the Minister of Education.
There are very strict criteria for the non-state universities, I invite everyone to see them, they are the strictest in the EU, the Minister of Education pointed out to SKAI and the show Today Kyriakos Pierrakakis after yesterday’s presentation of the relevant bill.
We have, Kyriakos Pierrakakis explained, one Special Minimum Entry Basis which will arise how? We have four scientific fields like the old bundles. In each of these there is an average performance of the students. From these four averages, we take the smallest one and multiply it by the coefficient of 0.8 (corresponding to the EBE) and we get a single grade… corresponds to a ceiling essentiallybelow which there is no entry.
Someone who, through the minimum admission basis, as has emerged in the Panhellenics, cannot enter the departments of the Greek public university, essentially will not be able to enter the non-state ones either. The general “cutter» that isthis is the arrest, clarified the Minister of Education.
“The Legal Entities of University Education concern only strategic partnerships and presences in our country, there are qualitative conditions. Those who come will only be serious, and there is interest from serious universities. They will be branches with a minimum of 30 professors, minimum, for the ETHAEE (National Authority of Higher Education) to consider the application.
Secondly, minimum three faculties as in Greek public universities, with the exception if a university is in the Top 20 universities of the planet. These are only some of the criteriathey have to do research, and the teachers will develop in a similar way to the public ones” he explained.
These, he explained, are non-profit branches of foreign universities. “There are also some rules that we must observe in relation to the entire existing constitutional imprint of how higher education works in our country. The ones posted are the “cutters”, are the minimum because firstly each school will set its own criteria, which secondly should be equivalent to the parent university, and thirdly these criteria should be approved by us as well. ETHAAE will also receive the criteria in the file”.
“Currently we have 40,000 Greeks who study abroad according to the criteria of foreign universities. As long as there is recognition by DOATAP, there is automatically equivalence and the professional qualifications. We have more than 30 colleges in our country. Greece has been led by EU jurisprudence to recognize the professional rights of these colleges. The major has already been recognized without strong rules because for decades we treat this topic as a taboo and hide behind our finger” he pointed out.
