Earlier, from the podium of the Greek Parliament, George Tsipras informed us that “the defense of the country is not an end in itself.” He thus reminded once again the defensive dogma of SYRIZA. Alexis Tsipras himself said that the sea has no borders, when other first-class SYRIZA officials called on us to risk it with Turkey. This is not a verbal slip, but a political stance, based on which SYRIZA is voting against defense agreements, such as those with France and the United States, which strengthen our deterrent capability and shield the country.
The Government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis is upgrading the deterrent power of Greece, strengthening the Armed Forces and modernizing the defense equipment. By protecting its borders, Greece is pursuing a modern and multifaceted foreign policy, regaining its international position as a factor of stability in the Balkans and the Southeastern Mediterranean.
