“I want to wish that the stadiums open with different rules” pointed out Kyriakos Mitsotakis
Otto Rehagel added his name to the Gazzetta Hall of Fame on Monday. The legendary German coach who led the Greek National Team to the epic victory of Euro 2004 and also to the 2010 World Cup, was honored at the Gazzetta Awards and awarded by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by his wife Mareva Grabovski – Mitsotakis, attended the Gazzetta Awards ceremony at the Concert Hall.
“I wished the Prime Minister to make smart decisions”
“Now that I got the award, I wished the Prime Minister to make smart decisions like we did in Portugal in 2004. When you’re in charge somewhere, you have to make decisions that make everyone happy. I met your sister, Dora Bakoyannis and we had a great time,” Rehagel said during his award.
“These awards should coincide with the opening of the stadiums with different rules”
“I really want to tell you how moved I am today to be with you and how honored it is for me to award a man who has been the protagonist of a unique journey, a team effort that brought our country to the top of Europe. I think that all of us will never forget this summer of 2004 and I believe that the least we could do is 20 years later to honor the general, the great protagonist of this effort,” the Prime Minister pointed out.
“At this interesting juncture I want to really wish that these awards coincide with the opening of the stadiums with different rules than we have experienced in the past. It’s a collective effort, we’ll need everyone’s help, but I believe the time has come to take a big leap and be able to offer all fans quality and safety, as befits a real European championship”, emphasized Kyriakos Mitsotakis .
Mareva Grabovski – Mitsotaki presented an award to Fani Chalkia for her overall contribution to sports.
