Why did the joint presence of Ahtsioglou, Christodoulakis and Teboneras take on such great proportions

Today’s event, which will take place in a central theater in Athens with the participation of Dionysis Tebonera, Manolis Christodoulakis and Efis Ahtsioglou, caused an “earthquake” in the center-left. The “pooling waters” in the middle ground were disturbed, as four months before the European elections it is a fact that such initiatives are hardly taken. And that’s because the three parties, SYRIZA, PASOK and New Left they see nothing but the Brussels ballot box. By registering all independent marches, the first two are “fighting” for the second place in June, while the parliamentary group led by Alexis Haritsis is trying to pass the 3% threshold in the referendum.
Is it expected to hear something “groundbreaking” from the three party representatives? “Difficult” both after the noise that has been caused, but also because of the fact that Dionysis Teboneras and Manolis Christodoulakis will not attend this event with the “blessings” of their parties. Both SYRIZA and PASOK did not applaud the initiative of their executives from the first moment, showing their displeasure. In this climate, both are expected to converge in that the political forces they belong to have the plan and can be the pole that will be able to dominate the space against Kyriakos Mitsotakis. This is, after all, the common goal. On another wavelength Efi Ahtsioglou is expected to ring a “bell” to both Koumoundourou and Harilaou Trikoupi that with a consensus opposition it is not possible to form a front against the Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The joint presence of the three took on such large dimensions not only because it is a move made in the pre-election period. The efforts that have been made to reconstruct the area have not been crowned with success. And this has troubled many centrist voters who have distanced themselves from the happenings in the political scene. Everyone claims that the upcoming European elections will be the driver of developments. In any case for his cases Dionysis Tebonera and his Manolis Christodoulakis it was estimated by some executives that they function as “dolphins” or that they attempt to challenge the leadership in an indirect way. Dionysis Tebonera’s entourage clarified yesterday that “SYRIZA – PS is our home. Away from us and from me personally, any attempt to question and disorientate. We collectively respond to society’s demand for cooperation in the major problems it faces. We have never condoned divisive movements. It is now in the DNA of the democratic people and consequently also of SYRIZA – PS to seek compositions and transcendences, unifying initiatives with the aim of seeing light on the horizon, with the routing of a governmental exit. We are all moving forward together away from small party entrenchments and introversions for the great upheaval towards the works and days of the right-wing government”. “The various scenarios about various fantasy conspiracy theories or anything else do not concern me”, stressed Manolis Christodoulakis speaking to MEGA yesterday. New Left sources said about the event: “We are open to dialogue. We want to build a social alliance of all those who are currently being suffocated by the right-wing government. The question is with which strategy they will be able to express themselves politically. Conditions and characteristics of this strategy will be set by Efi Ahtsioglou.”
The success of the event is as much a bet as the people who will attend. It will be of particular importance how many executives from SYRIZA and PASOK will choose to attend against the displeasure of their leaders.
