One super app which will integrate all applications in walletthe digital wallet on our mobile phone, is being planned by the Ministry of Digital Governance, according to the announcement of the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou in his radio interview on Parapolitika Fm.

In particular, as he pointed out, “the new thing we are looking for is the creation of a super app. Today the Greek State has three applications, gov.gr, myHealth, the wallet. From having three different ones, we are going to make a big application, in essence the basis will be the wallet because we want it to be the central point, and it will be done within the year. We won’t have to open different apps, everything will be there.”

As underlined by Mr. Papastergiou, 1.2 million citizens have “downloaded” it walletwhile approximately 4.5 million were registered in the National Communication Registry.

Regarding the matter of entry of tourists at pitches, the minister pointed out that it can be done through the wallet which they can “download” as visitors, they will scan their passport, the mobile phone “reads” the chip of the passport and extracts the data and thus identification is made. In the meantime, as the minister mentioned, in a few days the academic ID and the blood donation card will be added to the wallet, and then the pet’s identification card, its file.

He emphasized that the way of examination for Driving License will change in September, while he said about the postal vote that it is an innovation: “It is a strong crash test to overcome that the elections are only a screen. If the project of postal voting succeeds, which it will succeed, I think that the next day the conversation will open about how we can vote remotely in European elections or municipal elections”.

Finally, for him digital assistant Mr. Papastergiou emphasized that he has received 397,372 thousand questions to date, about 5 thousand questions per day.
