Awaiting the results of today’s pan-Hellenic meeting of farmers in Nikaia, Larissa, the mobilizations of the agricultural associations of Evros continue, with blockades at the Customs of the Gardens and at the junction of Kastanie.

According to the president of the Alexandroupolis farmers’ association Kostas Alexandristhe approximately 50 tractors that are lined up in his area customs office they will interrupt today, for some hours, the passage in both streams of car trucks.

At the same time, as the president of the Agricultural Association of Orestiada told APE-MBE Elias Angelakoudisremains the block at node of Kastaniewhere the farmers will proceed with a symbolic closure of the road for an hour – probably from 20.00 to 21.00, which, as he clarifies, is decided by the coordinating committee.

“We have sent a representation today to the meeting in Nice and we await an update tomorrow from our colleagues to see how we will proceed. Answers should finally be given to the problems posed by the rural world, just as they were raised by the 15-member committee that met with the prime minister. We are asking for tax-free agricultural oil and not these crumbs they give” noted Mr. Angelakoudis, raising, at the same time, the issue of CAP.

“Of course it is also the CAP as no answers have yet been given to this big problem. Many of our colleagues have not been paid and those who have been, the subsidies are reduced. Solutions should be given to these two very important issues and of course for the rural electricity which we have requested 7 cents per kWh was not given. It should be a single price for the entire agricultural stream” pointed out the president of the Orestiada Agricultural Association.
