With the bill for the establishment of non-state universities, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will very soon come again to “concrete” his parliamentary group and show the opposition forces that the majority of 158 he has is not disputed.

The government passed the bill for same-sex couples. No I doubted. The cubit of 110 votes it proved to be no easy task despite the fact that efforts were made to limit losses until the last minute. The fact that Kyriakos Mitsotakis did not impose party discipline freed the “blue” MPs.
The truth is that it could not have been done otherwise, as for many this specific regulation was a “leap” that they could not make. The comparison, after all, with 2015 and the cohabitation agreement is indicative. The prime minister addressed the center in which he invests and in the “fund” they make in Maximou they see the credit they got from the international community. What will “fix” things now? With the bill for the establishment of non-state universities, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will very soon come again to “concrete” his parliamentary group and show the opposition forces that the majority of 158 he has is not disputed.
For SYRIZA, things are different. The losses may not have been many and the two or three “suspicious” MPs did not ultimately escape the “yes” party line, however Pavlos Polakis with the abstention and Nina Kasimati with the “present” are troubling Stefanos Kasselakis. He had spoken of party discipline and now he must put into practice what he had said. Will he release the Chania MP from the duties of the super-coordinator?
According to several executives, this appears to be a one-way street, as the possibility of deletion does not seem to be on the table. A few days before the Congress, the balance is delicate and the president of SYRIZA does not want to ignite further introversion. Today and tomorrow the polls are set up to elect the congressmen. In Koumoundourou, after all, they want to show that the problem lies with the blue and green camp, where 1/3 of their MPs voted against the bill for same-sex couples, disobeying their leader.
The truth is that in PASOK they did not manage to limit the losses to a single digit number and 11 MPs abstained. The result is a blow to the progressive sign of the movement, but Nikos Androulakis is trying to look ahead. There is no issue of disciplinary measures with the president of PASOK declaring yesterday at an event of the prefectural committee of Heraklion that “we achieved what they considered impossible. PASOK, not only is not a supplement, but already in the measurements it is the official opposition and will become the second party with the popular verdict in the European elections, with increased percentages”.
The KKE received several attacks due to the negative stance it took on a legal issue. Some believe, in fact, that the vote against the 21 MPs is not at all in line with the base of the party. Dimitris Koutsoubas, wishing to continue the upward trend in the polls, went on the counterattack from Heraklion where he was also found: “Some people are still wondering if there is an opposition, who will face the government and Mitsotakis, what will happen to the dominance of the ND and with 41%? And it is no coincidence that they are in SYRIZA, PASOK, New Left. At the same time, however, they vote the reactionary bills of the ND and Mitsotakis, as allegedly progressive. They did the same with the bill on procreation by same-sex couples, even helping the government to cover its losses. That’s how it is: one hand washes the other. It is now clear that on critical issues, the ND government can count on the support and consent of these forces. What we call a “collaborative chic opposition” has been formed.
All the data and research show that the Greek Solution was the winning party from the specific bill and especially from the debate that preceded it.
Kyriakos Velopoulos suffocated New Democracy from its right and has already managed to increase his strength in the polls by 1.5%-2%. Consistently on the “yes” line, serving the ideology of the most radical, leftist and progressive public, the New Left remained (recording two losses), but so did the Freedom Movement.
