The “devil’s week” for SYRIZA, which started on Sunday with the reactions caused by the questionnaire for the members of isyriza, continues. The Political Secretariat took the baton on Tuesday and Wednesday and today the four-day meeting of the Central Committee begins.

At a time when polls, such as that of the Opinion Poll (Action 24), show that 62.4% of respondents would like PASOK – SYRIZA – New Left cooperation and the center-left needs a strong pole to lead the field, official opposition shows that it cannot escape from introversion.

Stefanos Kasselakis is not winning from the initiatives he is taking and is now waiting for the conference in order to change the climate.

In any case, he does not want to lose the momentum, as the “sand in the hourglass” until the European elections is empty. The farmers have reached as far as Athens, there is an effervescence in the universities, but the government has not “opened a nostril”.

Today at 7 pm he will analyze his political vision for SYRIZA to the body of delegates.

It will be the first time that the new president will address such an expanded party audience that wants to hear that SYRIZA will return to the sphere of the “governing left”, as it was until this summer.

It needs a specific political orientation, positions, program and of course new faces. The party has been polling behind New Democracy since 2016, but now the downward trend and third place behind PASOK has caused new tremors at home.

The formidable rival of SYRIZA, the New Left, has steadily begun to organize itself. They chose one of the worst days of Koumoundourou to present the return to politics of Gavriel Sakellaridis.

The former government representative, who left politics in November 2015 by leaving SYRIZA, returned as head of political planning for the parliamentary group of Alexis Haritsis.

His participation in the European ballot is considered certain, although the relevant announcements have not yet been made. They are constantly holding open rallies and events trying to rally, among others, a section of voters who had previously trusted SYRZA, but now most of them are in the gray zone.
