At the strike meeting of the Labor Center of Larisa, the head of the KKE was present
At the strike meeting of the Labor Center of Larisa, the governor was present. of the KE of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoubaswho in his statement referred, among other things, to the Tempe accident, which today marks 1 year since the tragedy.
Mr. Koutsoumbas referred to the issues of labor rights, stressing that the KKE is fighting for increases in wages and pensions, while regarding the agricultural problems he said that “a fight is needed to reduce production costs, but also a fight against the CAP that disenfranchises the farmers from the fields”.
At the same time, he spoke about the issue of auctions of the first home, saying that “they must stop”, while regarding the issue concerning public health, he said that there should be recruitment of doctors and nurses in hospitals.
Finally, the c.g. of the KE of the KKE also referred to the role of the 1st Army in Larissa accusing the government of “with a staff here in Larissa involving our country in war, sending frigates to the Red Sea for the interests of NATO”.
Specifically, Mr. Koutsoubas stated:
“Today we are fighting, we are fighting, we are claiming so that the crime of Tempe is not covered up, so that all the political and criminal responsibilities that led to the conflict, the explosion and the innocent “death” are attributed 57 human soulsmost of our children.
We are fighting for increases in wages, daily wages, pensions, for collective labor contracts, for labor rights, full rights, full and stable work, of indefinite duration for all public and private sector workers.
We are fighting to reduce the cost of production for Greek farmers, for guaranteed lower prices, for the satisfaction of all their demands against the EU’s CAP which is tearing them off their fields.
We are fighting to repeal the tax law of the ND, which was passed with the tolerance of the other parties, which brings workers to their knees, especially self-employed professionals, merchants, scientists in the cities and villages and closes the shops. To stop the auctions of first homes and commercial properties here and now.
We are fighting for Free Public Health, to cover all the needs of hospitals with massive recruitment of doctors, nurses and other support staff. We are fighting to withdraw the failed private universities bill, which essentially forces the working class family to dig deeper and deeper into their pockets to educate their children.
We are fighting against all the war spending that is done for the needs of NATO and the EU and that involves our country by sending frigates – staffed here from Larissa in the EU. They send frigates to the Red Sea, to other seas outside the borders. They are sending our Armed Forces away for the interests of NATO, the EU and big financial interests.
We are all united, workers, farmers, professionals, students, students in this struggle. We continue with a pan-Hellenic front to challenge the dominant policy, for radical changes in Greek society, to satisfy all the demands of the workers, to pave the way for a real progress and freedom for the workers and our people.
