Information from the government representative is in progress
The government’s priorities were mentioned yesterday in the cabinet by the prime minister regarding the effort to improve everyday life and the topics of our meeting today: dealing with accuracy and measures to support our agricultural products, upgrading public health and safety issues in and outside our borders, the government spokesman said during his introductory remarks.
“The four new measures of the Ministry of Development, to be exact, come into force today. The government’s decision to proceed with the reform has already resulted in lower prices. The government’s main priority is consumer protection,” said Mr. Marinakis regarding the issue of accuracy.
The prime minister pledged during the meeting with the farmers’ representatives that the issue of Greekization of products will be addressed, Mr. Marinakis continued.
The government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, is currently informing political editors about the government’s work.
Afterwards, Mr. Marinakis referred to the Period Poverty Program presented to the cabinet by Deputy Minister of Health Irini Agapidakis. The program will target areas such as Western Attica and Western Thessaloniki and will include: distribution of 14,000,000 period products in schools, menstruation education for parents, period pack at school, de-stigmatization campaigns and awareness and empowerment interventions for all country girls.
Asked about the complaint that Mr. Triandopoulos gave an order for the excavation in Tempi, Mr. Marinakis replied that “I confirm the answer of Mr. Triandopoulos in the Parliament, no order was given by any member of the government for the excavation at the site of the accident ».
Mr. Triandopoulos answered in total, no order was given and the judiciary is investigating it, we do not draw conclusions. It was an operational decision and according to what the authorities have testified, it was not intended to hide information.
Asked about Mr. Kasselakis’ accusations that the government criminally protects Mr. Karamanlis, Mr. Marinakis said “From the first moment we have said and we mean it, everything in the light, everything must be investigated by justice, justice does the her job with her independent role. But we must let her do her job with calmness and objectivity, sobriety and away from crowns of populism.”
“Due to the delay in proceeding with the 717 contract for remote control, some believe that there is a causal connection with the death of our fellow citizens, that is, that there is a criminal responsibility of ministers. We do not agree with this reasoning, we disagree with this reasoning and I think that anyone who is in contact with the criminal code realizes that such a thing lacks logic”, replied Mr. Marinakis to a question about whether there is criminal responsibility of ministers for the accident in Tempi.
