THE Autonomous Group “Modern Strong Municipalities”led by Lazaros Kyrizoglouis the big winner of today’s election, with a percentage of 65.78%, electing 20 of the 31 members of the new Board of Directors.

In particular, the election process for the nomination of the new 31-member Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) for the new self-governing period 2024-2028 was completed on Saturday night. A total of four self-governing factions participated in the election.

Out of a total of 535 registered people, 529 elected officials voted.

Valid ballots 525, invalid 4.

For the Board of Directors

They received:

⦁ Modern Strong Municipalities : 348 votes (65.78%) and 20 seats

⦁ Local Government Now : 155 votes (29.30%) and 9 seats

⦁ Popular Rally: 18 votes (3.40%) and 1 seat

⦁ Coordination of Voters : 4 votes (0.76%)

The names of the 30 new members of the KEDE Board of Directors (the 31st seat is automatically occupied by the mayor of Athens), will be announced after the completion of the counting of the cross.

Convocation of the new Board of Directors for the election of the president, the two vice-presidents, the general secretary as well as for the other members of the Executive Committee will take place on Monday, March 4 at 19.00 at the KEDE offices.
