The 2016 law was intended to fight corruption and concerned Greek politicians who made money abroad through off shore companies. Mr. Kasselakis does not fall under this law, there is no issue, noted Mr. Kokkalis
What Mr. Georgiadis said about Stefanos Kasselakis’ company in the USA was laughable, said SYRIZA MP Vassilis Kokkalis, speaking to SKAI, adding that Mr. Georgiadis “has gotten us used to strange statements, such as those about Tempi”.
The 2016 law was intended to fight corruption and concerned Greek politicians who made money abroad through off shore companies. Mr. Kasselakis does not fall under this law, there is no issue, noted Mr. Kokkalis.
Mr. Kasselakis was in the USA and came to Greece, Mr. Kokkalis emphasized and added: “The law mentions the word foreign. In the explanatory statement of the law it says that in this way it is ensured that these persons do not participate not only in non-cooperating states, but also in states whose tax system is lighter compared to the Greek one. The tax system of the USA is not lighter than that of Greece” noted Mr. Kokkalis.
“The impressions created by Mr. Georgiadis are misguided and false, now Mr. Georgiadis wants to tell us that Mr. Kasselakis, who had a company in America and is taxed there, has a problem,” concluded Mr. Kokkalis.
