The charged climate of the next three months is already prescribed by what is happening in the political scene, with ND and SYRIZA already emerging as the “protagonists” of the political confrontation, which will unfold during the period leading to the European elections.

Despite the fact that the public opinion polls so far “up and down” SYRIZA between the second and third political power, the news and the revelations about its new leader Koumoundourou and their business activities feed the bra de fer of Megaros Maximos and Koumoundouros, making SYRIZA the main political opponent of ND.

A feud that has received “peak” characteristics, as from the “party sources” and the representatives of the two sides, has passed between Kyriakou Mitsotakis and his Stefanou Kasselakis. On the one hand, the government side insists on asking its questions about the Kasselakis operations – without getting adequate answers – as the Maximos Palace and on the other hand Koumoundourou attributes the search for the truth about the actions of her president to the improved – as they say – rolling polls where the SYRIZA he appears to “get over himself” according to Stefanos Kasselakis.

And while the questions seek answers that are consistent with the country’s legislation on the business activity of politicians, as government officials emphasize, SYRIZA insists on not “blurring” the landscape until it files – as SYRIZA sources say – the declaration of assets (from where you belong) “in the time provided by the legislation”.

However, PASOK remains in the pre-election target of Piraeus and Megaros Maximos, mainly for its stance on the legislation of non-state universities, continuing to highlight the “inconsistent” position of Harilaou Trikoupis with her timeless and declared positions on the matter, even the recent past. “We had put our heads deep in the sand and now that we had the opportunity to form a wider consensus to win the battle of the self-evident, PASOK turned in the time machine. And many of those who built their careers on sit-ins and university violence are uncomfortable because they will lose their jobs,” said Prime Minister during his interview with SKAI and on the show “ATEIRIASTOI”, revealing his intentions towards PASOK and in view of the pre-election period.

The parties to the right of the ND are also expected to have a “share” in the political confrontation, as after the attack launched on them by the party’s pre-conference in Thessaloniki, the prime minister returned again from the frequency of SKAI television, separating the “responsible patriot” from the one who “sells” – as he said – “with great ease his patriotism, without being able to support it with specific policies”. He predicted, however, that although “the extreme right has always had a distinct electoral presence, in the last 10-15 years at least in our country with different party formations. There has always been a significant part of the electorate to the right of New Democracy. I believe that it will exist even now, but not to the extent that it will cause significant political upheavals” assessed the prime minister.

In any case, what was already clear from the prime minister’s first – essentially – central pre-election speech, during the ND pre-conference in Thessaloniki, is that for the next quarter until the Euro elections are set up, the basic pre-election argumentation of the ND will unfold in three main axes: in the areas of everyday life, with the government’s interventions and efforts to improve it and the relevant results, in the consistency of words and actions, but also in highlighting the setbacks and obstacles on the part of the opposition parties to necessary reforms that have the country.
