In the packed conference hall of the Central Committee of the KKE in Perissos and its foyer, people of all ages attended, on Wednesday night, the big event organized by the Central Committee of the party commemorating the 100th anniversary of Lenin’s death.

We are here today to honor the leader of the world-historical revolution that changed the fortunes and course of humanity, ushering in the beginning of the end of the brutality of capitalism and the dawn of a new society. It is our firm belief that anyway the earth will turn red, red with real life and creation and the red flag will be raised again in Leningrad, Moscow, Berlin, all over Europe, Asia, America, Africa , Oceania, worldwide. And on this year’s 100th anniversary of Lenin’s death, the KKE is here, present, to reiterate again and again that the ideas that shocked the world remain immortal, because they represent truth and justice. They condense the historical experience of mankind towards progress. They show the way that the working class and the people of all countries must follow. They are relevant and necessary as never before and are confirmed more and more every day. Mainly we are here, because the worldview first elaborated by Marx and Engels, developed as a theory and promoted in practice by Lenin, we continue not only to study it, but mainly to develop it on the basis of modern developments, as they have been shaped in the remaining 3/4 of the 20th century and the first ¼ of the 21st century that followed after Lenin’s death” emphasized at the beginning of his speech the head of the Central Committee of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoubas.

He emphasized, among other things in his speech, which included an overview of contemporary developments and the major issues raised in the communist parties by country as well as in the international communist movement, that “it is of great value to open the debate based on the declaration of the Central Committee of the KKE on the 100 years since Lenin’s death, around basic and topical conclusions about the organization of the class struggle, and the need for the working class and the popular strata to come to the fore, to realize the root of the problems and the real opponent they face , the capitalist system and its power”.

“To highlight the character and role of the new type of party in modern conditions, i.e. the importance of the existence of a revolutionary organization, all of its functions, the way of organization and the orientation of its action are determined by the basic political purpose of the working class, as expressed in the statutory principles of the KKE.

To promote the great positive experience of building socialism in the 20th century, which, with its weaknesses and setbacks, was humanity’s step forward. It illuminates the possibilities today for workers’ power, the socialization of the means of production, and central planning to give enormous impetus to meeting the modern working people’s needs, illuminates the answer to the 21st century, socialism.

Especially today in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, Artificial Intelligence which open new paths for humanity, but in the hands of capitalists they can lead to the destruction of humanity, human life itself, since “capitalism is the biggest virus”.

The complete liberation of the productive forces, in a system where the increase of the profit rate is not its criterion, a system that prioritizes the well-being of all workers with respect for the environment, will be liberating. In socialism, the use of Artificial Intelligence, like any scientific invention and conquest, with the central scientific planning and at the same time labor control, will result in the benefit of the workers, of all humanity” said D. Koutsoumbas and concluded:

“In this direction, the KKE is at the forefront of the struggle, having formulated a modern revolutionary strategy and making a constant effort to expand its militant ties with the working class, the popular sections of the middle classes of the city and the peasants, their youth. Only in the struggle of the working class and the peoples lies the hope of overturning, in the face of a world that is becoming more and more barbaric and unjust. That is why from this today’s manifestation of memory, honor, but also thought and reflection for all and sundry, we cannot but declare clearly and emphatically: High the flag of socialism-communism, the red flag of Lenin! For an even stronger KKE! For the pan-European counterattack of the peoples! To break the bonds of the EU! For Greece and the Europe of socialism! For the Europe of the workers, of all the workers, of the farmers, of the peoples!”.

After D. Koutsoumba’s speech, a concert with the ERT Symphony Orchestra, conducted by chief musician Christos Kolovos, followed.

Works were presented by the Soviet composers Dmitri Shostakovich and Volodymyr Themelidis, two composers who “glorified with their work the new world that is being born and the importance of fighting for it, who with their art contributed to the knowledge of reality in its revolutionary evolution , who with their Art wanted more than anything else to help ensure the victory of the new”.

In the foyer of the Hall was the Lenin model, which the late Dimitris Talaganis had offered to the KKE. D. Talaganis as a student in Moscow in 1970 participated in the great architectural competition for the New Lenin Museum and won the first prize. His teacher, the great architect Konstantin Melnikov, presented him with the replica of Lenin’s funeral cast as a reward for his great success.
