Mantzos: PASOK – Movement for Change submits realistic proposals to deal with accuracy

Mr. Mantzos was in Chania as part of the nationwide campaign of the party for the promotion and presentation of the proposals of the Movement for Change.

Speaking to reporters after the end of his contacts, he claimed that “the wave of price increases in combination with the energy crisis, creates an explosive mixture and deadlocks in the life of the Greek family, households. “The government has not done what it should to prevent and deal with the phenomenon in a timely manner, it gives little to the many and much to the few, and this is an anti-development doctrine that must change.”

At the same time, he pointed out that “PASOK – Movement for Change, contrary to what is said by the government and the official opposition, submits realistic proposals, applicable and socially just to address the wave of price increases and energy poverty.”

Mr Mantzos referred to a number of long-term measures proposed by ΚΙΝΑΛ to deal with the energy crisis and household relief, such as the immediate increase of the minimum wage to 751 euros, collective bargaining with the social partners, reduction of the value added tax to 6% for a number of basic consumer goods for at least 6 months, reduction of excise duty on fuel, the adoption of an EKAS form for 250,000 micro-retirees and the introduction of a ceiling on electricity bills and adjustment clauses.

“These are real proposals that through our meetings with social organizations across the country we promote. “KINAL, PASOK are becoming stronger here, every day beyond toxic confrontations and dilemmas”, he stressed characteristically.

Asked if there was room for funding to implement his party’s proposals, he said there was money, citing targeted benefits that he said would help those in real need.

“Social inequalities are severe and cannot be treated with horizontal measures and prescriptions,” he concluded.

During his presence in Chania, Mr. Μάντζος He also met with party officials.
