Their resignations to Kyriakos Mitsotakis submitted on Thursday afternoon by the Minister of State, Stavros Papastavrou and the Deputy Minister in addition to the Prime Minister, Yannis Bratakos.

The Prime Minister thanked them for their cooperation and immediately accepted their resignations.

“Their presence in a meeting with a businessman gave a wrong message” government sources said. With this move, Mr. Mitsotakis is preparing for the answer he will give shortly from the floor of the Parliament to what has been said about the two ministers and their meeting on Sunday.

The president of PASOK also referred to this issue during his statement to the Parliament yesterday Nikos Androulakis.

This social meeting did not go unnoticed by the prime minister, and it is a given that there was discomfort. Both wanted to make it easier for the prime minister with their resignations.

“Their presence there sent a completely wrong message to the government, and obviously they would not be able to stay in their place” they said.

“Two ministers on Sunday at the house of a certain businessman”

Mr. Androulakis specifically mentioned, addressing the ND, that on Sunday night two ministers visited a businessman and had drinks at his house.

“They were not PASOK officials, nor the rest of the parties, who signed up for this process (motion of no confidence) together with the specific businessman. Your ministers were… Mr. Papastavrou and Mr. Bratakos,” he said characteristically.

The debate that opens, among other things, is how the two ministers will be replaced, that is, if there will be a wider change in the government structure or if only the two specific positions will be replaced.

In any case, the government spoke of a social event and of an attempt by PASOK to throw mud, while Mr. Voridis, speaking this morning on SKAI television, stated that it was a “social meeting where there were 10 other people in front”.
