“Fourth consecutive increase in the minimum wage, 50 euros more in the household’s pocket. The Prime Minister understands the needs of households, as we are in the international part of high prices, precision. The household needs support, the minimum wage family needs support. That’s why we have the fourth consecutive increase in the minimum wage. This means three salaries more in the pocket from 2019.” This was supported by the Minister of Labor and Social Security Domna Michailidouspeaking on SKAI and on the show “Kalimera”, with Giorgos Autias.

“If you calculate that with 14 wages in the private sector, that’s four extra wages in the pocket compared to 2019. From where we were at the bottom, that puts us in the middle of the EU. From the new increase, in addition to the 560,000 workers who are on the minimum wage, also benefit half a million people who receive regular unemployment benefits and two more categories: mothers who receive maternity benefits and vulnerable citizens,” he added.

Referring to the pensioners who are still working, Mrs. Michailidou said that “we are among the 55,000 working pensioners who have applied to the platform within a month. A month ago we had 26,000.”

Regarding pending pensions, the Minister of Labor and Social Security stated that “28 months ago we had 750,000 pending pensions, now we have 22,000 main pensions”, pointing out: “Now, the special power we put on the main pensions so that they can be discharged and stay in 22 thousand, we have put it in the international and auxiliary pensions, which are the large amount of pensions that remains, so that in two months, as is our bet, these pensions will also come out”.
