In his article in the Editors’ newspaper, the president of PASOK-KINAL emphasizes how “the country needs a strong and serious opposition that will move with values and programs, so I believe it is worth it for the progressive world of the country to trust our effort.”
“The European elections are an excellent opportunity to put a stop to the arrogance, impunity and clientelistic practices of New Democracy”, says the president of PASOK-Movement of Change, Nikos Androulakis, in his article in the Editors’ newspaper. At the same time, he emphasizes how “the country needs a strong and serious opposition that will move according to values and programs, so I believe that the progressive world of the country deserves to trust our effort.”
“Consider who has caused the latest defeats of the New Democracy and who, even today, by insisting on the lifestyle and contradictory positions that cause confusion, are giving a gift to the government of the New Democracy”, points out the president of PASOK-KINAL.
At the same time, Mr. Androulakis underlines that “it is necessary to strengthen the Democratic Party and PASOK, the force that consistently fights for the orderly functioning of the rule of law, the reduction of inequalities, sustainable development and the strengthening of democratic institutions”. He argues that a reliable and serious official opposition on June 9 will be an alternative government option to the New Democracy in order to change the country’s page.
“Unreliability is the main characteristic of government operation. For the wiretapping it was foreign embassies that requested my monitoring only to be denied the same day. When it was revealed that New Democracy had turned the Ministry of the Interior into its electoral center by intercepting thousands of personal data of Greeks abroad, Mrs. Asimakopoulou and the government propaganda tried to convince us that the MEP had collected all these emails herself, even from people who had never contacted her”, notes Mr. Androulakis.
He describes the attempt, as he says, of the government to cover up the wiretapping case and the responsibilities in the Tempe tragedy while he mentions that in the debate on the motion of no confidence the Prime Minister tried to convince the Greek people that business interests are trying to destabilize the government while, he points out Mr. Androulakis, “in the morning he made these complaints, the same evening, as I revealed in the Parliament, his two closest associates met with the same interests, resulting in their dismissal from the government”.
