In a friendly and cordial atmosphere, according to a relevant joint announcement, the third meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion took place this morning in Athens. Costa Frangogianniwith his Turkish counterpart, Sedat Onal, as part of the Positive Agenda initiative in the dialogue with Turkey, in the fields of economy and trade.
Both sides welcomed the progress made on specific issues.
In particular, the opening of negotiations for the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Enterprise Greece and the corresponding Turkish body Invest in Turkey, the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates against Covid-19, the progress of the Joint Committee on Tourism and the reactivation of the Joint Economic Committee.
During today’s meeting, trade and business relations between the two countries, prospects for cooperation in the fields of transport and telecommunications, as well as strengthening cooperation in addressing environmental challenges were also discussed.
Following the work, the two sides expressed their commitment to continue working to further strengthen the Positive Agenda initiative.
