The government’s decision to pick up the “gauntlet” thrown at it by SYRIZA and accept its request to hold a pre-agenda debate on “the extreme accuracy, the super profits of the oligopolies and the government’s refusal to proceed with measures in favor of of Greek society and economy” are expected to convey within the parliament the heightened pre-election climate that already prevails in the wider political scene. In essence, it will be an informal pre-election debate which will be held on parliamentary terms, shortly after Easter, so that the baton of the summit confrontation will then be passed to the squares and the “balconies” where the political leaders will culminate their pre-election campaigns .

According to government sources, Koumoundourou’s request is being accepted and the schedule will be determined after the Easter holidays. In fact, the same sources, referring to the subject of the debate which by extension concerns the entire economy, emphasized that it concerns a privileged area of the government and a comparative advantage for it, while commenting on the move by SYRIZA they characterized it as a “pleasant event” especially when it comes from those who are evangelized “mint trees”.

Certainly, the period of the debate, a few weeks before the Euro elections, but also based on the practice that is usually followed in the debates of the political leaders in the Parliament, the political confrontation is not expected to be limited only to the issue of the SYRIZA request, but will be extended , as usual, and on other current and burning issues that concern the country and the citizens. With everyday life as a priority, an important part of which is accuracy. After all, everyday life and its improvement is the main bet of the government, from the first moment of taking over the government of the country and it remains at the top of the agenda, promoting policies and reforms in this direction.

This is one of the main agendas of the current pre-election period in view of the European elections, the bet of everyday life, for which – according to government sources – the government is fighting every day, in order to correct decades of bad texts, to face distortions and injustices of the past , but also to deal with problems and issues that arise, many times from the fluid international scene and its consequences.

These issues, among others, are expected to be raised during today’s second meeting of the prime minister with his deputies, in view of the pre-election battle and the fight that all ND officials are called to give to strengthen the faction. After the meeting he had with MPs from the North and South Aegean and Crete, today, after one o’clock in the afternoon, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet with MPs from Western Greece, the Peloponnese and Epirus, while discussions will continue with the rest of the MPs blue party, whom the prime minister will see in groups, asking for their active participation in the battle of the European elections.

Particular emphasis will be placed by the prime minister himself and by all his officials on the so-called “grey zones” for the ND, where the party had received a wave of disapproval in the regional elections, but also in those where, according to polls at least, the party of Piraeus appears to be showing a bend or leaks. The above features seem to be displayed in regions such as Central and Western Macedonia, Thessaly, the Ionian Islands and Thrace.
