In an equation for strong solvers, the application of the limiting condition of the distance of 50 meters of the Konstantinos Floros by the MP of Hellenic Solution, Vassilis Grammenou, after the violent episode that unfolded yesterday in the peristyle of the Parliament.

According to sources from the Presidium of the Parliament, how the independent MP will observe this restriction – once he returns to his parliamentary duties – is his own business. Speaking to the parliamentary editors, Mr Con. Tasoulas emphasized that he cannot impose on the victim (Mr. Grammeno) who will sit in the parliament, pointing out that “he has the right to move freely in the Parliament”. Circles of the Parliament, however, trying to interpret the restrictive term, consider as a possible scenario the extension of his exclusion from the parliament.

It is recalled that Konstantinos Floros has been excluded from the Parliament for 15 days, which means that his parliamentary compensation is automatically reduced by half. The period of fifteen days is not calendar time but days of parliamentary sessions, which means that the sentence imposed on the independent MP – due to the intervening Easter holidays – will be longer. It is characteristic that in tomorrow’s vote concerning the bill of the Ministry of Environment, the independent MP will not be able to vote.

At the same time, the Parliament is already considering the possibility of stiffening the penalties in such incidents. Parliamentary sources point out that such decisions are not taken in the heat of the moment but take the necessary time and are not dictated by current developments. Amendments that may have fallen on the table are the extension of the exclusion from parliamentary work to 2 months, but also the reduction of parliamentary compensation for up to 5 months.
