THE visit of executives of New Democracy started from the Police Department of Ag. Panteleimon where they were welcomed by the acting commander, Elias Kiamouris. The commander of the Police Department talked to the secretary of New Democracy and referring to security and policing issues, stressed the improvement of the situation, but also the need for further support of the Police with human resources.
The Cleaning Department of the Municipality of Athens was the next stop of the visit, where the party executives talked with the boss, Sotiris Lyris and the employees about their daily needs, the reduced wear of the vehicles, the reduction of the expectations, the importance of the existence of stations but also how important for the employees was the arrangement with which they joined the heavy and unhealthy professions during the rule of New Democracy. Mr. Lyris referred to the constant interest shown to them by New Democracy, while he stressed that the secretary of the Political Committee of ND has visited them again together with ONED executives.
Then followed a meeting with the president of the 6th Municipal Department of the Municipality of Athens, Popi Prezerakou.
In the Kypseli Police Department, which they then visited, the secretary and party officials had the opportunity to see up close the constant vigilance of the police and their rapid intervention in emergencies. The governor, Fotini Dimou, referred to the issues they face and the difficulties that arise in such a densely populated area. Characteristically, he even mentioned that it is a great pleasure for the people who are in the service of the citizen every day to see for the first time someone visiting them to hear their needs. Finally, he stressed the need to strengthen the department with human resources.
Then the New Democracy executives toured the Municipal Market and the pedestrian street of Fokionos Negri, where they talked to owners and employees of businesses in the area. The Municipal Market of Kypseli is a landmark place for the area where from time to time exhibitions, festivals and other cultural activities take place.
The visit ended with the meeting of the party executives with members of DIMTO of the 6th Municipal District and ONNED.
