This is stated in today’s announcement of the Chamber of Magnesia that the Minister of National Economy and Finance said Kostis Hatzidakis speaking with the representatives of the productive bodies of the region.

Specifically, in the announcement of the chamber, it is stated that the minister had a meeting with the productive bodies of Magnesia, on the afternoon of Saturday, April 27, as part of his tour in Thessaly.

On the sidelines of his speech in a central hotel of Volos, he discussed with the members of the governing committee of the Chamber of Magnesia, the 1st vice-president Filippos Samalekos, the general secretary Vassilis Zaheilas and the president of the tourism department Thekla Kammenou, who explained to him the issues concerning mainly in tourism and the problems created by bad weather Daniel, as the tourist season has already started.

The representatives of the chamber insisted on the need to create an integrated strategy for the prefecture and the region of Thessaly, which will create new dynamics for attracting new investments and, most importantly, will stimulate the efforts of those who have already invested in the region.

More specifically, they requested the immediate payment of compensation to those affected by the disasters, an extension of the implementation of measures and laws, for which there are malfunctioning problems of the information systems or the employees have not been informed, and that a special program be announced to support the businesses of the prefecture.

Mr. Hatzidakis, according to the announcement, appeared positive regarding the requests of the Chamber of Magnesia, while he also referred to the planned interventions for the next period.

As announced during the meeting, through the mouth of the minister, as of Holy Wednesday, May 1st, a relevant platform will be opened regarding applications that tourism professionals who were affected during the period September 2023-January 2024 will be able to make, in order to be given relevant compensations in accordance with the standards of the refundable deposit.

At the same time, Mr. Hatzidakis referred to the Prime Minister’s recent announcements about the support package for Thessaly after the disastrous floods of last September, while he pledged to return, soon, to the prefecture with newer decisions and announcements.

The meeting was attended by the two deputy ministers who are elected by law, Zetta Makri and Christos Triandopoulos, as well as the government MP Christos Boukoros, while the president of the Trade Association Apostolos Ontopoulos, the president of the Hoteliers’ Union of the Province of Magnesia George Zafeiris also participated. , the president of the Association of Tourist Accommodation Owners of the Province of Magnesia, Evangelia Dianellakis, as well as hoteliers of Pelion.
