The Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, visited today, Holy Saturday, May 4, surveillance posts of the area of responsibility of the 95th National Guard Battalions (ADTE) in the island complex of Megistis, accompanied by the head of the National Guard, General Dimitrios Houpis, the commander of the High Command of the Interior and Islands (ASDEN) lieutenant general Emmanuel Theodorou and the commander of 95 (ADTE) lieutenant general Emmanuel Hatzis. Mr. Dendias first visited the Strongylis outpost, where he attended the Mass of the Resurrection at the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos.
The minister exchanged greetings with the officers and soldiers and thanked them for their service to the country. Afterwards, Mr. Dendias went to the Ro outpost, where he also wished the officers and soldiers who serve in it. During his visit, the Minister of National Defense laid a wreath at the monument of the “Lady of Ro” Despina Achladiotis.
Mr. Dendias then went to Megisti, where he was welcomed by the mayor, Nikos Asvestis, and will attend this evening the Mass of the Resurrection at the Holy Church of Agios Konstantinos and Eleni.
