Episode occurred at the Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem during the lighting ceremony of the Holy Light when Israeli police arrested the personal guard of the Greek consul.

According to information, there was a crowd in the area and the incident was caused, resulting in the Israeli authorities arresting the guard.

The incident was released on video and reported by Al Jazeera as well as the Palestinian Authority Wafa which wrote: “Israeli occupation forces today arrested the personal guard of the Greek consul in Jerusalem while he was in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in the Old City of Jerusalem. Eyewitnesses reported that occupation police physically assaulted the Greek consul’s personal guard at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher during the Holy Light ritual on Saturday and arrested him.”

The episode ended a short time later as the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs took the necessary steps and the guard was released.
After the necessary moves by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was released and the episode is considered over.
