The Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, continued today, Easter Sunday, May 5, his visit to Kastellorizo, accompanied by the head of the Greek Armed Forces General Dimitrios Houpis, the Commander of the Supreme Military Command of the Interior and Islands (ASDEN) Lieutenant General Emmanuel Theodorou and the commander of 95 National Guard Battalions Senior Command (ADTE) Major General Emmanuel Hatzis.

The Minister of National Defense visited the missile boat “Krystallidis” in the port of Megistis, where he wished the captain, Captain Dimitrios Aggelis and the crew a happy Easter and thanked them from the bottom of his heart for their service to the country.

“It is my great joy and my great honor to be here today, the greatest holiday of Orthodox Christianity, the celebration of the Resurrection of the God-Man, here in Kastellorizo” said N. Dendias.

“With the men and women of the Armed Forces who defend one of the most critical areas for our country, the wider complex of Kastellorizos, the borders to the east of the Greek and also of the European territory” he underlined.

“On behalf of the government of the country, but I think also of the entire Greek society, I express our pride for the work that is being done here and our deep gratitude for those who defend the borders of our homeland” emphasized the Minister of National Defense.

Afterwards, Mr. Dendias participated with the officers and soldiers in the Easter meal at the camp of the Defense Island Command (DAN) Megistis, where he also exchanged wishes for Easter.
