A rallying message against the loose vote in the European elections was sent by Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is touring the Chios. In the morning he visited Chios City Hall and the offices of the North Aegean Region.

“Just think about how much more difficult things are in 2024 than in 2019 in terms of geopolitical instability. With a war in Ukraine, with an open front in the Middle East, Europe will be called upon in the next five years to play a much stronger geopolitical role and the Greece must be the protagonist in this evolution of Europe into a new geopolitical power. We have reason and interest to be protagonists in this great effort”, emphasized the Prime Minister addressing citizens on the pedestrian street of Aplotarias Street.

“Because I hear various people from the opposition claiming that the European elections are an opportunity to send a message of questioning the government’s stability, I answer them: We are raising the gauntlet of the challenge. Political stability is the big issue of these elections and let the citizens once again send a message that essentially nothing has changed since the mandate they gave us last June to govern for four years and initiate the major changes that the country so desperately needs. Because if the first four years were four years in which we were called upon to face many crises and I think we coped with them quite successfully, the second four years is the four years of major structural changes that will put Greece on a path of rapprochement with Europe for good . This great, progressive, patriotic ND, a New Democracy which fights for the defense of national interests, which invests in progress, in equality, in a development with social justice, this ND is ultimately the only party which today has a compelling overall proposition for the country,” stressed the prime minister.

And he added: “So at the polls on June 9, I want to ask everyone to make this great effort to rally our faction again, to go vote, not to face these elections with any sense of laxity or indifference.”
