The dinner that will be hosted tonight by Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Kyriakos Mitsotakis is being upgraded, as among the guests will not be only the relevant ministers and associates of the two leaders.
The Turkish presidency also invited him to the dinner Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, a fact that is considered to show the positive approach shown by Ankara to the Prime Minister’s visit to the Turkish capital.
The presence of the commanders of the secret services of the two countries, the Ibrahim Kalin and his Themistocles Demiris, at dinner and their meeting at the time of the visit of Mr. Mitsotakis is another example of the effort to stabilize the positive climate between the two countries.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to arrive in Ankara at 3:20 pm. and at Eseboga airport he will be welcomed by the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The four-way meeting between Erdogan and Mitsotakis will start at 4 p.m. in the presidential palace of Turkey.
This will be followed by the extended meeting with the presence of the foreign ministers Hakan Fidan and Giorgos Gerapetritis and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexandra Papadopoulou and the diplomatic advisor of the president of Turkey Akif Chagatai Kilic.
At 6 p.m. the two leaders will make statements to the press and dinner will follow.
On the “menu” of the talks of Kyriakos Mitsotakis there will be issues such as the problems of minorities, the differences in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as the possible timetable of how to resolve them, the disagreement over marine parks, the issue of the Monastery of Chora , trade, tourism and the preservation of calm waters in the Aegean.
The two leaders are expected to meet again in July at the NATO summit.
