Its construction is progressing rapidly of the water supply pipe of the settlement of Kinetaas EYDAP published the tender for the project, which is financed with 6.4 million euros by the Region of Attica through the “Attica 2021 – 2027” Program.

“I am happy, because today one of the most vital projects for the entire region was auctioned, and in fact a month and a half earlier than we originally committed. On March 15, we had said that the project would be auctioned by the end of June, in order to launch all the necessary actions to provide a permanent solution to the chronic problem of unsuitability of water faced by more than 21,000 residents of the greater area of ​​Kineta. And this is what we are doing today. Methodically and with strategic planning. Faithful to our commitments for balanced development in all the neighborhoods of Attica, we will not stop working for a minute in order to be useful, providing a solution to every problem that has plagued the citizens for years”said the regional governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias.

And he added: “Our perfect collaboration with EYDAP gave us the opportunity to take the first step for the construction of the pipeline and we are determined to speed up the procedures as much as possible to get the water flowing to Kineta. At the same time, we are also committed to the immediate start of the procedures related to the study for the internal network of the region, a project that will also be financed by the Region of Attica, so that at the end of our term, the water supply problem of Kineta will have been definitively resolved. Access to quality drinking water is a non-negotiable right for all citizens and we are not going to make any concessions on this.”

On the occasion of the approval of the tender of the project, the managing director of EYDAP, Haris Sahinis, pointed out: “We are one step closer to the completion of a project of the utmost importance for the quality of life of the residents and the development prospects of the Megara area, by ensuring high-quality water supply and drainage services. EYDAP, in accordance with the development strategy plan, is constantly expanding its coverage area with the aim of providing top quality water and its services to more and more citizens.

Following the district’s decision, the tender for the selection of a contractor for the construction of a water transfer pipeline with a total length of 15 km and a new central tank with a capacity of 3,000 m3 will be closed at the end of June 2024, with the aim of completing the project by the end of 2027.

The project, with a total budget of 6.4 million euros, is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and has been included in the NSRF Programming Period 2021-2027.

This is the main contract which concerns the important infrastructure projects that will ensure the supply of quality water, solving a perennial and extremely important problem. With the completion of the project, EYDAP will ensure the efficient water supply of the residents and tourists of the area.
