Kyriakos Mitsotakis from Florina he even talked about the election of nine MEPs on June 9, raising the bar for New Democracy. Stefanos Kasselakis on ATTICA TV emphasized that “we are very close to a percentage that can leave all of Greece dazzled” and Nikos Androulakis from Thessaly asked not to continue the arrogance of the government, but to strengthen the democratic faction. The political leaders are revving up and their eyes are now on the next polling day. And if New Democracy’s poll numbers do not provide for negative developments and “murmurs” for the majority, the same is not true for SYRIZA and PASOK.

As soon as the percentages of the two, together with the New Left, do not reach those of the New Democracy, discussions will immediately begin on the prospect of a partnership between the progressive forces. Such a thing, however, “stumbles” on the nature of the common path – cooperation of the political forces, but also on the leaderships of the two main poles, who will hardly hand over the “keys”.

Yesterday, in the same interview, the president of SYRIZA clarified that he does not intend to call Nikos Androulakis after the European elections. Nevertheless, he pointed out that “I will invite his executives, former executives, former ministers of this area, of PASOK”, showing that he has surprises in store for the head of Harilaou Trikoupis. And from the side of Nikos Androulakis, however, the door is “hermetically closed” for cooperation with Koumoundourou, while the conversations he has exchanged with the president of SYRIZA are harsh. He had recently even described him as “entertaining”.

In this climate with Stefanos Kasselakis stressing that with a good percentage “SYRIZA will open its doors, a big hug to the entire progressive world” his “flirt” with Zoe Konstantopoulou is also interesting. Yesterday, he said about the head of Freedom of Navigation that “I respect her parliamentary group very much and Mrs. Konstantopoulou who has represented the families of the Tempi victims very well. She has really performed very well and to her credit she devotes a lot of time to parliamentary work.”

He added, in fact, that “I disagree with her attitude towards Prespes, but in general, philosophically, culturally, I think they are a very good team and I hope we can work together for the good of the country”.

The reference of the president of SYRIZA, as well as his article in EFSYN, which MeRA25 also included, cannot be ruled out to hide more of an attempt to “embolden” the public of the two parties than cooperation. It is aimed at younger people who in some cases are looking for their party identity.

In any case, there will be many discussions in the next period. Those who support the idea of re-establishing the center-left know that a lot of patience is required and that many retreats and oversteps must be made in order to move forward. The executives who have started the discussions believe that only a strong pole will be able to “embrace” social groups that are already “boiling” and looking for ways out, such as farmers, students, pensioners, freelancers, small and medium entrepreneurs and ordinary workers.
