Kyriakos Mitsotakis sent a message to North Macedonia, to the president of the country, Gordana Silianovska, and to the acting prime minister, Christian Mitsotakis, after the provocative attitude they have shown recently.

“When one pulls the rope, one should be ready and break” characteristically says Mr. Mitsotakis and adds:

“And if he deviates from the agreed course, let him know that he will find the road to Europe closed”, a road which, as he says, “passes through Greece and the observance of International Law”.

For Greek-Turkish

Regarding Greek-Turkish relations, the prime minister recalls that “I said two years ago that “provocations stop and discussions begin”. And Mr. Erdogan has now also taken this path.”

He also makes it clear that “a package solution is not discussed. Greece does not forget its disputes with Turkey. This does not mean, however, that we should live with our finger on the trigger all the time.”

“And because some people in Greece and Turkey feed off the Greek-Turkish crisis, ask our critics about the results of our policy, who see the reduction in immigration flows. Or our islanders who saw local economies boosted by visas to Turkish visitors. See also the position of Greece in the international context. Confrontation or trying to co-exist with our neighbor when a little further down the Middle East is on fire and in the heart of Europe war is raging?” adds Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Actually

The prime minister also spoke about the issue of accuracy that was discussed in Parliament, stressing that “it is our first priority, something that is defined for us by the reality experienced by the citizens themselves. Others are complex issues that cannot be addressed with words and simplistic solutions. As long as he persists, so will we. Opposing national interventions and European initiatives”.
