In the coming days, it is expected to announce the official program of the International Conference on Peace and Sustainable Development, which will take place on June 17-18 at the Athens Conservatoryon his initiative Alexis Tsipras Institute and his Zoran Zaev Foundation.

According to sources close to Mr. Tsipras, among the guests will be prime ministers, European commissioners and top government officials, former prime ministers, presidents and foreign ministers, heads of institutes and think tanks.

As they mentioned, the high-ranking guests from the EU and Greece cover a wide, inter-party democratic political spectrum, while they emphasized that the representation from the left and center-left Eurosocialist space will be especially important.

Leading current and former government officials from the Balkan countries will discuss emerging problems and efforts for peace in the region, while high-ranking guests from the Middle East.

As part of the Conference, a Peace Prize, the “Prespa Prize”, will be awarded to a personality for his contribution to Peace. The first prize will be awarded this year to the UN Secretary-General’s special envoy for nomenclature, Matthew Nimitz.
