How did he comment on the previous day’s debate in the Parliament for accuracy
During the two-day visit of the president of SYRIZA PS Stefanou Kasselakis in Palestinewhich concludes today, the press representative of SYRIZA-PS mentioned, Voula Kehagia during today’s political editors’ briefing.
The purpose of the trip, as he said, is to send a message of peace and justice, to have an immediate ceasefire, to release the hostages, stressing that the entire Western world must work in this direction.
Also, he noted, with this trip St. Kasselakis recalls that he unwaveringly promotes the two-state solution based on the decisions of the United Nations, the recognition of the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and expresses SYRIZA’s solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Regarding the issue of accuracy, V. Kehagia referred to the pre-order debate in the Parliament caused by SYRIZA-PS, where “the absolute poverty of the arguments of the government and Mr. Mitsotakis on the reasons why Greece remains a of the most expensive – second in the EU – countries competing with Bulgaria”.
“Mr. Mitsotakis’ speech showed that he himself, as a prime minister who declares that he is fighting to deal with accuracy, does not know the basics about food prices in our country”, said the representative of SYRIZA-PS, commenting that “his report [του πρωθυπουργού] on feta, he demonstrated that either he doesn’t know – because he doesn’t care since it’s not his problem – how much a kilo of feta costs in Greece, or that he knows but consciously tried to mislead the Greek people by stating the price for half a kilo of feta”, and added:
“If the government decides to lie so easily and even to the Parliament about the price of feta, let’s think about what lies it has told about other matters of major importance: About Tempi, wiretapping, taxation of citizens, the economy.”
In addition, he spoke of a later “assignment” from Maximos to ministers “to start throwing mud at the face of Stefanos Kasselakis and of course at SYRIZA-PS”.
“Those appearing as honorees of all and sundry have once again shown their toxic and poisonous face. Their populism and their hatred. They went so far as to claim that SYRIZA-PS has elements in common with the atomized far-right as they called it.
They talked about “weeds”, even saying that the issue with accuracy and feta is “nothing”, he said characteristically, while recalling the SYRIZA-PS law proposal that includes measures for accuracy, from zero VAT on basic items alimony, the reduction of the basic VAT rate from 24% to 21% until the inclusion in a “Teiresia” regime of those businesses that make a profit.
Regarding the tax measures proposed by SYRIZA-PS, Voula Kehagia referred to the significant tax reduction with a positive impact on the budget for legal entities up to 220,000 euros, but also to the significant tax reduction for incomes of at least up to 100,000 euros with the reduction of tax rates. The balancing, he explained, will come from the tax increase on very high incomes and similarly the same is proposed for ENFIA.
Finally, V. Kehagia referred to today’s posting of a TV spot, in which Stefanos Kasselakis quotes the proposals of the SYRIZA PS on the housing crisis. Specifically, he made the following suggestions:
1. Lower ENFIA – lower taxes on landlords who rent their homes at reduced rent
2. Low rent housing tax credit program. Building apartment buildings with reduced rent in exchange for a tax credit from the state
3. Home loans with twice the repayment time and starting after 5 years to young people aged 18 to 40 who want to live in the countryside
4. Limits on Golden Visa in urban centers
