The president of SYRIZA spoke about his relationship with Alexis Tsipras, his political ambitions, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the prices of feta and bread. Stefanos Kasselakisin a comprehensive interview with ANT1 and Giorgos Liagas from his mansion in Spetses.
Asked about his relationship with Alexis Tsipras, Mr. Kasselakis emphasized that the former prime minister “did not question me personally” but sent the letter before the last conference “to clarify the situation”.
“I hope we can do something together until the European elections, but I haven’t asked because I haven’t thought about this combination. We have communication, we talk 1-2 times a week,” he added, while after a new question about the former prime minister, he clarified that “he is not going to be in the government as a former prime minister. It is a flag for SYRIZA and its positions are on a more international level.”
Mr. Kasselakis to the question “will you become prime minister?” appeared fully convinced, answering “yes”. He even went a step further in time, saying that this will happen “when elections are announced” to add that “I will govern myself because we will have self-reliance”.
“I will not shut myself in as prime minister. If we are in the corresponding constitutional circle, my first decision will be the abolition of parliamentary immunity, the law on the responsibility of ministers and parliamentary privileges”, he added.
“I don’t lie, I just don’t tell the whole truth because someone can twist it”
When asked if he is lying, he replied “no, I just don’t tell the whole truth because someone can use it and distort it. If I don’t want to say something I can imply it. To lie, I haven’t.”
The president of SYRIZA also referred to the prices of feta and bread and noted that he goes to the supermarket with Tyler Macbeth, because for them “it’s a break from everyday life”.
When asked by Giorgos Liagas if he knows how much the bread costs, Stefanos Kasselakis answered:
“Of course I know. Especially in America where I went every day for bread, I know.” When asked if he knows how much he has in Greece, he replied: “Well, how much does he have?” One euro?”, while he assured that his whereabouts will be made public before the European elections.
